We are currently in beautiful Cartagena. Yes, we have returned to Colombia for the second time. It has been almost two years since the last time we were here, and we are really excited to be back. We were a little worried that after visiting so many beautiful parks, driving some incredible roads and seeing so many other wonderful things in the rest of South America that our original impression of Colombia would change. On our first visit we were blown away by the friendliness of the people and the amazing scenery. Fortunatey we can honestly say that Colombia has not let us down. The drive to the coast was even more beautiful then we remembered and the people are just as great. We just love Colombia, and we are even talking about coming back for a third visit someday!
For now we have some more serious matters to take care of. We will be shipping our van to Panama in a couple of days and have a lot of paperwork and running around to do. After spending over a year in just South America alone we are definitely a little disappointed to leave the continent, but at the same time we are excited to experience the things that we missed on our way down through Central America and Mexico. We don't have a lot of time left to travel latin America (due to funds getting low), but we will try to have a blast during the next five or so months, and really enjoy our final days of traveling...atleast temporarily. Our next travel adventure is already in the works!
Unlike Argentina and Chile, the last couple of countries we visited provided us with very few oppurtunities to use the internet and thus keep our website updated, so we appologize for not keeping everyone posted. In the last couple of months we have:
- spent almost two weeks in Lima, Peru (Blog) - explored the ruins of Chan Chan and Kuelap (Blog) - celebrated Ashley's 25th birthday in northern Peru - crossed into our 22nd country, Ecuador and had a great time in the beautiful colonial city of Cuenca. We also visited one of the most famous hat makers, Alberto Pullo, and picked out a fabulous superfino Panama hat. - drove along the Amazon Basin in Ecuador and the famous Quilatoa Loop where we shopped at many traditional markets and climbed up to a beautiful crater lake - Spent 11 days in the Galapagos Islands, a true highlight of our trip! -upgraded to Tamron lenses -created an ad billboard where your company is invited to advertise
and much more! Our latest Blog: Peru Ecuador (Coming Soon) Thanks to everyone who has visited our site! Please direct questions or comments to our email and please sign the guestbook. We love to know who is checking out our site.
